Klaxons have been crowned Best New Band at this year’s Shockwaves NME Awards.

The trio were presented with their prize by BBC Radio 1 presenters Edith Bowman and Jo Whiley.
The band, present on the night, came up to collect the big finger and managed to put their glowsticks down long enough to say this: “Jeez, well, thank you so much. We are indeed a new band! But I’d like to mention how good Tim Burgess looks. Thanks to The View too. Cheers.”
