The guys are going to be working with Tony Visconti whohas worked with the likes of David Bowie.

James Ford is the group’s usual producer and a member of Simian Mobile Disco. In the interview Klaxons also told us they were hoping to enlist Dr Dre as a producer:

“It’s looking promising,” James said. “In the US we’re signed to the same label as him Interscope. It’s all family! The head Jimmy Iovine and Snoop Dogg have heard our record and we know they like it.”

Klaxons will have support in the form of Simian Mobile Disco at all dates, except December 6th at Brixton Academy. Support for this date will come in the form of Ed Banger dance maestros Justice.

Also billed to play with Klaxons are Crystal Castles in Dublin, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle and the second Brixton date.

Fist Fite, from Portland, Oregon, will open the gig at Southampton, Leeds, Cardiff, Birmingham and the first Brixton date.

Pitchfork: Is the transition between this headline UK tour and opening for Interpol going to be weird?

Simon Taylor-Davis: It is, because we’ve never supported a band on tour before. We played one gig with Arctic Monkeys once at the Forum. They’re really good friends of our because they worked with James. Alex [Turner] used to go out with a girl that lived two doors away from me, so he used to be in New Cross. He used to come to loads of our early gigs– some of the squat parties we played. He was a fan from day one.

I think it’s a lot harder when you’re opening. You really have to win people over. We’ve always been really lucky that we’ve had crowds who have been quite into it. It’s going to be an exciting transition. I think there is always that kind of thing when you’re opening that you just want to blow the headline band away don’t you? I think there’s probably an element of that.

The event last from 9pm to 4am at Canvas in King’s Cross.

Klaxons are also backing Oxjam, the UK’s biggest music festival. Music fans are encouraged to get involved in the charity and help organise the events. Large scale or small, sponsored events are part of the festival, all around the country. In its second year, bands such as Klaxons, the Kaiser Chiefs, the Kooks, Kasabian and DJ Shadow, who breaks the trend by not beginning with a “k”.

A £1 million target from Oxjam this year would provide safe water for almost 1.4 million people, 20,000 emergency shelters or essential medicines for 10,000 villages. Music fans need to get involved now as the average gig takes 3 months to organise.

Most tickets are availalbe to buy on Ticketmaster.

The problem came from SEE tickets sending the wrong ticket stock received from Ticketline for 600 matinee show tickets.

The matinee tickets had the information for the evening show printed on them, meaning 600 extra tickets were in circulation for the gig.

Klaxons apologised about the mix-up in an official statement they released. The statements read:

“We would like to apologise to any genuine ticket holders who did not get in. If anyone had a valid ticket for either show but was not let in, we ask that in the first instance they should contact the ticket agent from who they bought tickets with ticket numbers and booking reference. The ticket agent will then be able to check if tickets were sent out and how they slipped through the net.”
